The season of rainy days and early nights is upon us. And what better way to spend a lazy day in than by bingeing on Netflix? I’ve lined up some of my favourite things to watch during this time of year. I’ve contained myself with the Disney and Christmas movies, because we all know I could binge watch those every day of the year.
Sidenote: These aren’t necessarily Autumn movies, they’re just movies that I like to watch around this time of year. Hopefully it’ll give you some inspiration!Harry Potter. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Harry Potter and could watch it all year long. But there’s something about watching these movies on rainy Autumn evenings that just feels right. Especially the first couple of movies always make me feel so nostalgic.
Sweeney Todd. Still enjoying the aftermath of Halloween, Sweeney Todd is the perfect movie to watch. It has just the right amount of creepyness and of course there’s a singing Johnny Depp.
Gilmore Girls. I could go on and on about why you should be watching Gilmore Girls (the main reason being Jess). I used to always watch it with my mother and love to rewatch the episodes every once in a while. The whole show just has such a nice atmosphere that can’t help but leave you feel happy and cozy. The adventures of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore are so fun to watch and sometimes (weirdly) relatable. Did I mention Jess? #teamjess
Nightmare before Christmas. The ideal transition movie from Halloween to Christmas. Need I say more?
Love Actually. I couldn’t write this post and not mention at least one Christmas movie, but I said I’d contain myself. I feel like Love Actually is the perfect movie for when Christmas isn’t really in full swing yet, but you still want to watch something Christmassy. In other words, perfect for this time of year.
Shrek. Because Shrek.
The Age of Adaline. If you’re looking for a good romantic movie to cuddle up to, look no further. This is such an amazing film and the storyline is so so romantic. It follows the story of Adaline who is portrayed by Blake Lively, who plays her part beautifully. And this Dutch actor Michiel Huisman gives an excellent performance (and is also really hot). The perfect movie to cozy up to with a nice cup of tea and a dougnut.
Stranger Things. I only recently got into Stranger Things. I don’t normally watch horror-like things so this was pretty scary for me. But I just loved the 80s’ vibe of it all. Obviously the story is super well written and they really know how to maintain the tension. But I feel like I’m the one who’s late to the party so is there really anyone I need to sell this show to still?
Let me know what you’re favourite things are to cozy up to on a cold Autumn night!
