Christmas time is here! I have been waiting so long for this. Last year, I spent Christmas in Florida without my family and without any proper Christmas decorations. So this year we decided to go all out!
When I was shopping for Christmas stuff, I found a lot of Christmas garlands. Unfortunately they were never quite right. The font was ugly, or the text itself didn’t make sense, or they were simply to expensive. So I decided to make my own Christmas bunting. I got these small square booklets full of Christmassy paper which were perfect. So I just cut out the letters, pulled a string through and there you go. Homemade Christmas bunting!
I also cut these little snowflakes from the same paper and put them on my door.
Next up, the most obvious decoration for Christmas, a Christmas tree. I got this little tree a couple of years ago and it just makes my room feel so much cozier! I usually go for a traditional tree, with lots of red and white and lots of bunting. For me, Christmas trees are all about memories. I love getting little ornaments on my travels and hanging them in my tree. It makes Christmas even more nostalgic haha. I got a little snowman from my trip to New York, and the Hogwarts Express from Universal Orlando. And obviously LOTS of Disney ornaments.
Something that can instantly make your room feel more festive is winter bedding. I got this set at H&M a couple of years back. It’s such a cute set and not too overly Christmassy, which I love since it’s more of a calmer spot in my room.
Also, Christmas balls. Do I even need to comment on why this is Christmassy? I collected some rose gold ones and put them in this basket with some cute lights and pine cones. Et voilà, instant cuteness guaranteed.
Another way to instantly make your room feel more cozy is by adding loads of candles. I turned this little Autumn piece that I made in my Autumn decorations post into a Christmas piece. With some branches, (fake) berries and HUGE pinecones.
I also got some random candle holders just placed around my room. I got these cute ones at H&M. One with copper text that says “Holly & Merry & Jolly”, and another one black with stars. And I also got this bigger glass jar a while ago with copper print that says ‘Oh Deer’ which I just found so cute.
A last little DIY project that we did in the house are these garlands. We bought some plain pine branch garlands at our local garden centre and hung them above our windows. We then hung some Christmas lights and ornaments in them and there you have some beautiful homemade Christmas garlands!
