It’s baking time again. And this time, it’s a real treat for all of the chocoholics out there (including myself). I made these chocolate chunk brownies, and let me just say, it is a serious chocolate overdose!
What you’ll need:
- 150 gr. butter
- 250 gr. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 100 gr. cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 bar milk chocolate
- 65 gr. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Loooots of chocolate! I used 1,5 bars of white chocolate and 1 bar Milka Daim chocolate.
First of all, preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
Start by melting the butter (in a small pan or in the microwave). When it’s all melted add in the sugar. Once this is completely mixed, stir in the vanilla extract and the cocoa powder. Be careful with mixing, as you will inevitably by covered in a cocoa powder cloud.
Once this is fully mixed, add in the eggs, one egg at a time. When this is all incorporated, you can start melting the milk chocolate. I melted my chocolate a bain-marie, meaning I put it in a bowl over a pan filled with hot water. This makes sure the chocolate melts evenly and doesn’t burn.
Mix in the melted chocolate with your mixture. When this is all fully mixed, you can add in the remaining dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt). Finally, you can break your chocolate bars and stir them in. It doesn’t really matter which chocolate you use or how much. It obviously just depends on what you like. Pour the mixture into a lined or greased baking tin.
Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
When you take the brownie out of the oven, make sure to let it rest for at least 20 minutes in the tin. After that, let cool it for a little while longer until the brownie is all set.
Serve it with some powedered sugar or coconut grater and you’re done! It’s perfect with a bit of ice cream or a cup of tea or coffee. Warning: you might just get a small chocolate overdose. But it’s all worth it!
